This album is the first one signed by the quartet on its own: an amazing record, called Alos Quartet as well, where they introduce pieces by Xabier Zeberio and also by the northern composers Steve Dobrogosz and Terje Bjorklund. The result is a delicate and innovative atmosphere in a work very carefully done in all aspects.
Alos Quartet gets a high mark in the challenge of presenting the string quartet as a soloist voice. They achieve it thanks to a unique character, by being audacious and creating an original sonority of their own. Dynamism and expressivity in an album that doesn’t mean to be similar to any other: no more and no less than their vision, unique and it is just their intensely personal vision of contemporary music.
"At first I had no clear idea what to work with or how -acoustic or electronic.... I composed the string quartet in three movements and, this being my first string quartet, I hedged my bets and basically kept to an estabilished and easy read format...."
